About

Born in Greece, I have lived all my life so far in port cities: Athens, Liverpool, and Thessaloniki.

On this site, I present the part of my work that deals with images.

I perceive the world as images and sounds: impressions and expressions of frequency. To me, the act of photographing feels akin to momentarily finding a perfect rhythm.

Also a research scientist with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, a Master’s degree in Biosystems and Informatics, and a Bachelor’s degree in Genetics, I have always believed in transdisciplinarity as the most truthful way of researching and representing the world. While adhering to this universal quality of transdisciplinarity, the art that I create is intensely personal, intentionally subjective, and, hopefully, unapologetic.

My passion for photography is coupled with my active interest in genetic genealogy and the role of visual research in establishing relatedness. Both fields essentially grapple with memory and the clues encoded in fundamental units of information; and what these reveal, obscure, or insinuate.
